Looking for a move to help simplify his schedule, Kevin Makice turned down a raise with Indiana University to work full-time for Ticketsnow.com, an online event ticket brokerage. His last day as the Web Services Coordinator for the Kelley School of Business will be Friday, December 1.
Kevin first received the green light to begin construction of a web site for VIP Tour Company in December 1998, just prior to a move to Bloomington, Indiana to work on web sites for Kelley. With database and programming help from John Epler and then Kenn Crook, Kevin has worked nights and weekends ever since in taking the web publication through four versions. Along the way, his programming and database skills developed sufficiently to make a move to a full-time position possible.
There is no title yet for the position, which is being created by owner Mike Domek. The job will enable Kevin to return to a home office and help facilitate more flexible child care for son Carter as Amy Makice seeks to become more active as a private therapist and researcher. Just as importantly to Kevin, the move will provide more time for personal writing and design projects.
