Carter is preparing to go bowling with her buddy Dashiell and talking about the game:
“Is it a race? Mommy? Is it a race? Is it a race?”
Before any parent has a chance to answer, she adds, “Because if it’s a race, I want to be number 6!”
Daddy asks why- Carter explains patiently, “Because it comes after number 5.”
Ah. It’s all clear to us now.
