Better Together

Lest our gentle readers get the wrong idea about my holed-up-in-my-cave work week, I am getting things done. In addition to continuing to plod through the stats collected from 6 months of PoliticWiki, I also finished reading a book — Better Together — that has great relevancy to my thesis work (now, and in the future). I’ve marked up the text pretty good, so what’s left is to turn that info into wiki page summaries.

What is most notable about the achievement is the bookmark: a little scrap of paper with Marty Siegel‘s campus address. It was almost two years ago to the day that I walked into Marty’s office for a 90-minute conversation about Informatics. I was carrying this book at the time, barely 10 pages into it. Now, it’s a cornerstone of my capstone.

He thinks deeply about many things, including but not limited to basketball, politics, microblogging, parenting, online communities, complex systems and design theory. He didn't, however, think up this profile.
