Go2Web2 is a great place to get announcements about new applications and services as they come out. Orli highlighted a new Facebook application by TouchGraph that allows quick browsing of photos and profiles of your network of friends.
Touchgraph now has an application for browsing your Facebook network.
TouchGraph also has tools for Google and Amazon browsing. The Amazon version has more functionality than Amaznode, a tool for exploring relationships in Amazon recommendations examined a while back. These two tools are rendered in pop-up windows from the TouchGraph site.
BlogSchmog, as seen through Touchgraph’s visualization tool.
From Facebook, the link resides under the avatar and requires both pop-up enabled in your browser and Java 1.5 installed on your computer. That may be a minor barrier to entry for some. It isn’t content that is contained within the platform template. It is interesting to see how everyone is related. The color coding isn’t intuitive, though, and I’m certain there is information in the visualization that is lost on the first glance.
