In the car, driving home from Grand-dad’s, the boys were discussing trips they’d like to take.
Archie: Chicago is seven meters away.
Carter: (snort) That’s crazy! We can see seven meters away, and it isn’t Chicago.
Me: Wouldn’t that be cool though? We could totally see Aunt Meg from here.
Archie: It’s 1740 meters away. Chicago is 1740 away.
Carter: Mommmmmmm. Exactly how far away is Chicago?
Me: Well, I don’t know meters, but it generally takes about 200 miles each way on our trips.
Archie: See? I told you so. 17 and 4.
Must be that crazy new math they’re teaching in preschool.
