Filed under Things I Would Want To Do If I Had Time And Money … The Blog World Expo is taking place on November 8th & 9th in Las Vegas. The list of speakers is impressive—including Michael Arrington (TechCrunch), T.F. Boggs (Iraq war veteran), Thomas Frey (DaVinci Institute), Hugh Hewitt (TowhHall.com), Arianna Huffington (The Huffington Post), Rick Klau (Google), Will Leitch (DeadSpin.com), Om Malik (GigaOm), and Robyn Tippins (MyBlogLog)—and would be worth the $75 if Vegas was within walking distance. The nice thing about missing a conference on blogging is that there is sure to be some blog posts about it.

The expo web site included a list of some interesting statistics on blogging:

• 1.7 million American adults list making money as one of the reasons they blog.

• Technorati is currently tracking over 70 million blogs.
• Over 120 thousand blogs are created every day.
• There are over 1.4 million new blog posts every day.
• 22 of the 100 most popular websites in the world are blogs.
• 120,000 new blogs are created every day.
• 37% of blog readers began reading blogs in 2005 or 2006.
• 51% of blog readers shop online.
• Blog readers average 23 hours online each week .
