Today I took Carter, Maddie and Archie to the grand opening of Lower Cascades Park – an awesome park.
After three hours of swinging, climbing, running and then climbing some more, we were headed back to the car. Carter and Maddie were admiring their balloon cobra snakes and Carter was, well, he was being a bit of a know-it-all, attempting to direct Maddie’s interactions with her pretend snake. Carter also was losing his voice, the tail end of a rather nasty cold virus that hit us last week.
Carter: No, Maddie, that isn’t the snake’s nose, that’s the snake’s tongue.
Maddie: I’m pretending it’s giving me a kiss.
Carter: Well, you should pretend it’s licking you then because that’s its tongue.
Maddie: You know, Carter, I think your throat would feel a lot better if you didn’t talk.
While Carter agreed with her suggestion, he was unable to take her advice. I think it’s probably genetic.
