Discussion

What have you done for me lately?

I was sunk already. I knew, before the words left my mouth, that I didn’t want to say them, but a night full of frantic steam baths for Archie and the prospect of single parenting for another 24 hours was too much. The words came out.

“If you don’t eat some source of protein right now, I will not bring you cookies.”

Carter promptly enters the room, looking mildly concerned.

“Mom, I think we need to have a discussion about that. What were you planning on bringing me instead of cookies? Let’s have a discussion about that.”
