Mardis Gras Fun

My cousin, Hannah, is in the North Jazz Band.

The director of said band is responsible for the care and nurturing of my piccolo from high school. I’ve been working on an appropriate thank-you and have so far not summoned the right words. While you wait for that, here is information about an upcoming concert that sounds grand:

Come Celebrate Mardi Gras with the Bloomington North Advanced Jazz Band and New Orleans guitarist, Dan Sumner!

Date: Tuesday, February 20th
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Where: BHSN Auditorium
Cost: $5 per adult; students and senior citizens $2

FREE BEADS, while they last !!

Dan Sumner spent 15 years living and performing in New Orleans before Hurricane Katrina forced him to relocate here in Bloomington. He brings a wealth of knowledge to our students regarding traditional New Orleans music and street beats. A good time is guaranteed !

Amy’s note: Here’s hoping they play “fly me to the moon,” a piece that brings back very fond memories of my own high school jazz band “big band” concert.
