New Book on Sleep

Mary Sheedy Kurcinka’s latest book is pretty good. I’ve read the No Cry Sleep Solution and liked it, although it didn’t necessarily make a huge change in anything we already did. It confirmed that we were on the right track with our nightly rituals, and it makes a great loaner for parenting classes. For the most part, I’ve marveled that there are entire books devoted to sleeping. I thought that was the purpose of Social Work Ethics texts.
I stumbled on Kurcinka’s new book during a Border’s visit last night and have enjoyed it already. I’m not finished with it yet, but there are great pointers about choices we make throughout the day that either support a good night’s sleep or distract from it. It confirms for me that it’s worth being the pain-in-the-ass parents about bedtime. (heck, for that, one need just watch the fantastic meltdown Carter had in the middle of the running trail today after staying up just 90 minutes late last night)
